How to take good photos indoors
Mar 2nd, 2010 | By Bryan Burch | Category: PhotographyWell one of the things I see most with home photos is the people either look like an Oompa Loompa / a cast member of the Jersey Shore or they look like a Smurf . This almost always accurs when you are shooting a photo indoors . The reason is called White Balance and as that implies you are not balanced .
Without going into a bunch of tech talk , here are a few tips if you are shooting indoors with a digital camera
1) Try to use 1 type of light source , if using lamps … close the blinds to the windows .
2) Try to turn off any light that is not being used to light the subject
3) TURN OFF THE TV !! This gives you a mixed heat light source
4) Turn off all Fluorescent lights
5) Try setting the WB (White Balance) to Tungsten in the camera settings and take a few test shots . You may have to set your compensation value to –1,2,3 or +1,2,3
